I know the dead can leave behind their items as well, so we ought not cross them off entirety. Someone has Chandra's, he informed me in a voicemail, but it doesn't do this. I had Lavi's, which I used earlier this week.
I think we can rule out Tuuri, Zelgadis, and Blue Malibu from your list.
[ bixing nods, and starts to type, changing the list up as she's talking. Population in Thursday Disappearances: - Lin Jingheng, Lu Bixing, Akira, Ryo - Hunter, Itto, Tuuri, Lavi - Harrowhark, Mephisto, Kon, Chandra - Rynlan, Kuranosuke, Zelgadis, Blue Malibu - Gideon, Thancred
Item status accounted for +/- percentage of error: - Lin Jingheng, Lu Bixing, Akira, Ryo - Lavi (Confirmed HN Week 6 used) - Gideon (Confirmed bottomless storage Week 6 per trial) - Chandra (Confirmed ability not related to Tuuri Case, HN)
Item status potentially accounted for +/- percentage of error: - Itto - Thancred (Potentially similar to Gideon? )]
...alright. So that leaves us with... Hunter, Mephisto, Kon, Rynlan, Kuranosuke. That's a pretty small list, considering one of them is dead.
[ hmmm. ] Rynlan did talk to me about an ability he had earlier this week, but I don't think it was related to his adventure, based on the parameters you're giving. I could ask, though. As for the others... were you aware what Kon and Mephisto had? If the ability could have helped him, I can't imagine that Kon wouldn't have tried to use it on Thursday night.
I don't think it's wise to go around asking these questions, you'll make yourself a target. At least only ask those who you feel...relatively certain you can trust.
I don't know what Kon or Mephisto had, nor did they know what I had.
[ the corner of his mouth crooks up at the corner at that, touched. thank you sweet harrow ] I'm friendly enough that people think I'm pretty harmless, for the most part - but I'm much more cautious than that.
[ he nods, though, tapping his keys thoughtfully. ] I'll write Kon and see if he can tell me or not, and Rynlan - there's no issue, there. He was hellbent on solving it when I spoke with him earlier today, so, I'm inclined to think based on our conversations it wasn't him, anyway. The others... well, of them, the one I know the least would be Mephisto. It's hard for me to get a read on him. He's...
[ there's a pause here that suggests he's trying to pick a word. ] .... A character.
[ wow ] But, I'll try and keep an ear out for any interesting conversations this week.
I wouldn't rule out anyone based only on their seeming desire to solve this. [she doesn't know rynlan as well, at least.]
The item I have from my adventure allows me to remove a memory from someone for a period of time. So if it comes down to it - if we have a viable suspect - at trial, I will remove their memories of Kon and Tuuri's deaths, and then ask them questions about the item they possess once their guard is down.
No, me either. [ but, they know each other well enough that he does seem at least confident in asking about it. ] I already know what the power is. I just don't really know where it's from.
[ and oh... his eye lights up a bit, and he smiles. ] That's a clever idea, Harrowhark.
...The chances are that the window for that might end up being slim, if we spend too long solving the crime itself. I think we were a bit speedier this week, but we still didn't have enough time - we'll have to be mindful of it. If there's anything I can do to help, now or then, I'd be happy to.
[ a beat. ] Well, as long as I'm not the corpse on the altar, I guess, but, let's hope not.
So far, I haven't really had someone to be angry with. Even Satan is...as the dead say, just a guy. It is a bit refreshing. I think I shall make this a project and it will be enjoyable.
[ i do not control the die although tripping at the finish line would be very funny
anyway. he claps his hands at that, delighted, and jokes; ] Sounds like a plan! Maybe I'll create a class at the next Starry Sea Academy on the art of just desserts. If you'd be interested in being a guest lecturer, I'd be honored.
