Put aside the absurdity of circumstances. They goaded him into killing by giving him that information, and then they goaded us into exposing him and having him killed.
He told me he found it on a crumpled up poster for the party, which doesn't exactly just drop out of the sky when none of the other posters had that information. [ picking up the thread ] Bait, to goad him into it. Trial, to expose him and spread the bait. Entertainment for someone and suffering for us.
Which isn't to say that the twenty invitation limit doesn't exist. Only that they are doling out that information, whether true or false, in a manner most likely to incite chaos.
Yeah. While it would benefit us to figure out if it's real or not, that'd only really be a perk to the truth. You're right, I think, that it's to cause problems in our numbers at the very least.
