There - see that glow? [ spotted - he points ] Follow that until you can see the needle teeth and empty eyes. That's a female angler fish. They have a bioluminescent lure to draw in prey in the dark.

It can be, in things like fish and insects. [ pause, considering ] And algae. But in Hell I wouldn't be surprised if creatures that weren't supposed to glow did.

If it's eight and has a kind of bulbous head? An octopus. The ocean is weirdly keen on giving stuff a lot of limbs, actually.
