Of course they tell us to increase our tolerance and then poison us with the drinks they provide.
It is illogical. They cannot allow two thirds of everyone who dies and goes to hell to come back to life. At some point, it would have been noticed.
I suppose in theory, there might be some sort of universal mind alteration or reality warping at play. With that said, I don't see how this benefits Hell in any way except for adding more work onto their plate, unless overpopulation is truly an issue.

It became clear quickly that there were a lot of problems with that human's mind and memories. She was pretty unstable, and people only fed into her delusions out of a naive sense of being "considerate of her feelings".
