I don't either. [ he's sitting somewhere, jittering his leg where he's sitting. ] Scaramouche's handprint matching the blade that killed Chandra makes sense [ and this is what i shouldve put for my goddamn vote but did I? NO ] and the two cases had to be at least slightly connected, but as for how and why, I still feel like I'm at a loss.
Maybe Chandra killed Childe, first, and Scaramouche killed Chandra, after. Even then, it's not like he would've done it out of vengeance, unless it was something about wanting to be the one who killed him, but that just sounds like a bad space opera.
I don't think Scaramouche had the faintest idea Childe was awake or involved.
[but that doesn't rule out Chandra killing Childe before Scaramouche got to him.]
I'm no longer certain there was any connection. Childe was in the hospital at some point on Memory Island, and then deposited in the kitchen. The connection with Scaramouche and Chandra in the kitchen could be coincidental.
The blue-purple - it came from Scaramouche himself, so it might've been that Childe could've already been in the kitchen sink, drowned, and Scaramouche happened to be down on the ground.

... I can't really picture Scaramouche trying to save him from drowning, either, if he was making any noise.

I don't either. You were the one who asked the demons about living culprits, right? Did they specify if both were alive?
