today's weird. kon is just going to preface every interaction he has with that thought, because he's really not sure what everyone is going to have or not have at any given moment. he lets yoru wander off to go press his face against the glass of a tank, raising a hand to greet harrow.

Hey, Harrow. Checking out the fish? [ who are you talking to ] Heard there's some wild ones in here.

[ weird. he's going to remember this for later, but harrow is something that you chip slowly at until you find the right opening, he figures. ]

Deep sea things that look like they definitely live where the sun don't shine, mostly. Ever seen an angler fish?

[ pspspsp here skelekitty.

he comes closer, squinting into the tank she was talking to(?) and standing silently as he assesses for what he's looking for.

There - see that glow? [ spotted - he points ] Follow that until you can see the needle teeth and empty eyes. That's a female angler fish. They have a bioluminescent lure to draw in prey in the dark.

It can be, in things like fish and insects. [ pause, considering ] And algae. But in Hell I wouldn't be surprised if creatures that weren't supposed to glow did.

[ straightforward information. ]

If it's eight and has a kind of bulbous head? An octopus. The ocean is weirdly keen on giving stuff a lot of limbs, actually.

Thanks. [ accept acknowledgment when you get it. ] I prefer knowing as much as possible about things, regardless of topic.

So, glad to share. [ especially here ] This place is fucked up, so I'm going to take advantage of the stuff I do know to offset the stuff I don't.

What kind of sea was it, that you'd seen before?
