Yes. That thought has occurred to me as well. They put on an act of cruelty, but it is all quite surface level. Only one of them has managed to say something truly cutting, and I suspect it was by accident.
Everything else about this place has been a disappointment. [He will never get tired of dunking on Satan's funhouse.]
Some of them seem more sadistic than others, but I'd say it's just them having terrible personalities rather than being intentionally torturous. They're not even demons, you know - I'm pretty sure they aren't.
