That was how Jason described his game. Shorter time period, murders happened overnight, headcounts at breakfast, and then by the end of the day someone was being executed over the dinner service.
Itβs interesting in a very bleak way how many variations there are of this. Shorter version, the different settings, even how the trials and investigations are run.
Let alone the fact there are this many variations of this format in the first place.
They're all capable fighters. Obviously, we were all enrolled at a military academy.

von Riegan is trustworthy in that you can trust him to never tell you anything. He keeps his cards close to his chest, and he's pretty talented as a tactician. Gautier I'm fairly vague on. He has a reputation as a flirt and a womaniser, although how much that changed over the five years between school and the war I'm not sure.
Blaiddyd ... could be unpredictable. He should be a couple of years younger than me, not five years and some change younger. I don't think his pleasant politeness is a front, but he was a lot less so during the war.
If I understand, they are nobility of sorts? At the least, Blaiddyd and Gautier?
[from what she can discern from their profiles.]
I think I understand the manner in which you speak of them. The first time I met the scions of the other Houses, I was quite startled to find many of them rather personable, but there is a long distance between finding someone trustworthy or pleasant as an individual and expecting you won't be on the end of a political betrayal.
Blaiddyd very much so. Future heir to a kingdom kind of nobility. Gautier's high nobility... and von Riegan... well the Leicester Alliance is all noble houses but mostly making decisions among themselves. It is all hereditary though, so make of that what you will.
[ hmmm. ]
Exactly. The main players in the war were all schoolmates with each other. And from what I was able to tell, none of them were openly antagonistic towards each other. They just had different beliefs and goals and apparently no communication skills.
As for sides in the war... I'm not sure. We all know each other from academy days, and the war's a universal fact. Until someone takes the plunge and starts talking about specific things that happened I won't be able to match it to my own experiences. Also I ended the war with my wish from the station -- so I'm assuming my particular timeline is way off from the others until told otherwise.
Rather. The daughters and sons of the more powerful Houses all attend one another's birthday parties. But that will not stop them from attempting to make you into a vassal.
It is good to know, I suppose, whether they will likely operate here as an alliance or as potential enemies.
Nobility do like power, it's true. I think they'll have bigger things to worry about here than overthrowing us personally and making us indebted to their family name, and quite frankly I don't think they care all that much to do that in the first place.
von Riegan might try and con you into giving spilling information though. Very threatening. [ he does not sound threatened. ]

[a grimace.]
It's all too predictable.

But the frequency being anything more than zero is a huge failure.

Do you know others here, besides Flayn?

Sylvain Gautier, Claude von Riegan and Dimitri Blaiddyd are all from Fodlan. Although I can't say whether all our situations are exactly the same.

As long as you don't start a war with him, you'll be fine.
