This one wasn't bad, I'm not sure what has everyone so worked up. Sheila wasn't hurt in the slightest - I'm not sure we ever had an execution where the other person escaped unscathed.
Anyway, of course it is not...good...when someone is killed slowly with office supplies. I only mean that...in the end, it was quick for him, and he didn't try to make Sheila suffer, which I was glad for.
You and I have pretty different definitions of quick, I guess.
[but he doesn't sound angry as much as thoughtful, and more somber as he continues.]
Right. From what he told me last night... I don't think he was ever really planning on fighting back. In my last group, people were forced to when the executions happened, so - I'm glad that he got what he wanted in that way, at least.
[even if it's incredibly unlikely literally anything else in that situation went the way he wanted. tiny, tiny silver linings...]
We were never forced to fight but there was always some foolishness where a person who had resigned themselves to die would nonetheless say, 'for my honor I will fight you and try to live' or something.
I mean, if they weren't forced into killing in the first place, I guess it would be kind of weird for them to suddenly become pacifists. But - I don't think I disagree with you, either.
I was thinking of one particular example, where he confessed early and claimed he didn't want to continue on fighting the allegations, but then nearly got a young girl killed in his execution for the sake of his honor.

...I'm glad she wasn't hurt, but that doesn't mean this wasn't bad.

No, I was feeling everything Sieghart was feeling, and I've experienced worse pain, I assure you.

[well, that throws him off enough that he switches from irritated to concerned, blinking.]
I didn't realize the connection was physical, too... You're alright now, though?
[she didn't at all imply she wasn't alright before, but.]

[perking up a little now that they are talking about Friendship.]
What's she like?

Um. She is odd. She has animal ears and wears a bikini. She is very stupid.

[this is the face of someone who doesn't know how to react to that list]
She, um... sounds nice? I think.
