Well, the first ones I mentioned, the ones who weren't themselves... Somehow they were forced into thinking that one person was a huge threat to the rest of the group, and everyone would get hurt if they didn't kill that person. Of course that wasn't true, but they believed it as long as they needed to. The second group, um, the group I was a part of - it's kind of a long story, but essentially, if we didn't kill someone on Thursday night, they would get stuck in that place forever and their soul would be erased eventually. We knew that if we did it, though, there was at least a chance to bring them back eventually instead of losing them completely.
[she listens, and then, once he's finished, slowly inspects her bitten fingernails, thinking.]
...You know, I really might advise you to lie about that. You haven't taken a risk telling me, as it turns out, but you never know how people will react to these things. [a sigh.]
Or maybe not. The fact that you'd come out and say it is a bit relieving. Anyway, that's all quite understandable, as motivations go, so I see what you mean. Utterly different from our experience, where we were told from early on to consider the dead lost for good. It didn't turn out that way, but...
I mean... I'm not planning on standing in the courtyard and announcing it to everyone, but it feels weird to hide it completely, too. I'm pretty sure Bradley is going to bring it up to people even if I don't, anyways.
[he nods.]
I really hope that's common between all our groups, too... I mean, that everyone came back safe in the end. It'd definitely be a relief.
Ah. I do admit, we are fortunate - no bad blood among the group of us five. None of us killed one another or were involved in anything of the sort. Otherwise, I'm certain it gets a bit awkward.
He did take it surprisingly well, given everything, but - yeah. Awkward is a word for it.
[he nods.]
It'd be nice if we didn't have anyone to bring back by the end of this since everyone turned out fine, but... I'm pretty sure none of us really expect that to happen at this point.
I do, yeah. I didn't get to know Hope and Alphinaud too well, so I can't really vouch for them completely, but I never saw them acting cruel or anything. Bradley and Aikawa... are both a little unpredictable for different reasons, but they can both be really nice, too. Claude's a good person, too.

[taking a little breath.]

[but she nods.]
So far, that has been what I've been hearing.
