A cavalier is a swordsman who is assigned to the service and defense of a necromancer; it is both traditional and practical. Necromancers by nature are frail, and their abilities often are ineffective when acting alone, whereas matched pair of necromancer and cavalier can be formidable indeed.
I have never required a cavalier to be effective, but Nav is a unique talent where it comes to sword and strength, and in this way we are well matched. Given my own position, her position as my cavalier is indeed one of consequence.
