[ since they're both doing a little exploring, they're here in room (11). welcome to hell.

he doesn't recognize it immediately though, instead mostly annoyed that it's a firey, literal hellscape. ]

Ugh, this heat...

[ neither of them are equipped for this weather. he has to tug at his collar as he peers around, frowning. ]

Some of these rooms seem to lead to totally different places. But this is extreme even so.

[ there's no door anymore though, so they either need to find a way out, or discover what they're supposed to do here. maybe they can call the neighborhood watch. ]

I think... [ the details are slowly coming to him, though he sounds extremely uncertain ] we are in—hell?

...Let us hope that's not the case here. As far as I know, hell is no pleasant place to linger. Nor is it for the living.

[ and for the time being, they're alive. ]

Please stay close—we do not know what demons may be lurking about.

[ he's just guessing. this seems like prime demon real estate. ]

[ he will trouble himself because they're literally in hell. it seems like something perhaps better tackled as a team.

though he frowns. ]

I feel... as though you're right.

[ these stupid rooms. ]

What—do they expect us to punish each other? Ridiculous.

[ that doesn't sound easy at all. he shoots her a concerned look. where does he even start with the words that just came out of her mouth.

slowly, ]

You met god?

[ he has also met god but only in that she is one with his teacher. ]

[ this is a strangely specific thing to bond over. ]

I... see. [ ... ] I was much the same with my own professor. But I do not think he would hold any resentment for you—doubt is not so much a sin as a precaution, or a reaction to past hurt. Unless you act out on it, I wouldn't punish you for feeling something.

[ people have emotions, and sometimes they're bad. that's just how they are. ]

[ despite being in hell, and despite how uncomfortable it is, he has to laugh, however briefly. ]

Well, absolving sin is rather more pleasant.

[ but he's pretty good at doling out punishment when it's called for. the problem is that harrow seems nice. ]

If your sin is doubt and privacy, then perhaps you can repent with truth and sincerity.
