[after trial, harrow can be found at the pool, sitting near the edge of it with her knees folded against herself. she's frowning, lost in thought, but the frown doesn't disappear when rin approaches.]
[Rin's been running around and checking on people, and while Harrow isn't someone he had originally been thinking of, now that he sees her he's decided that she needs to be checked on too. So he'll come over to the pool too and plop down near Harrow. Not super-close, he wants to give her space. But close enough for them to talk. His tail settles on the ground next to him too, and it moves slightly here and there.]
[harrow can be found sometime on monday exploring the city of ankheen. where the ribcage corset is usually around her waist, she instead has what appears to be an actual pair of ribs, pointed at the ends like claws, jutting out of the front of her chest, and a spine-like exoskeleton running up her back. her eyes, large in her especially skeletal face, are glowing a bright gold.
despite this horror show, she seems especially small and lost among all of the shadows and shapes of the market.]
[This is after Rin's initial freakout, when he's wary but willing to go back at least.
The roulette sends him back to the market, and even though his hair is bluish now and there's flickering blue flames here and there on his skin he seems to be taking it all in stride. So when he finds Harrow, he can step over and talk to her.]
You mean the markets here?
[He doesn't seem too bothered by her looks either. If anything, he thinks it's kinda cool.]
[harrow hardly gets far on monday. she can stay in her room, but eventually even she will find the need to come out to eat. she goes to the restaurant and has breakfast and coffee brought to her. but before she can return to her room, she runs into rin.
and a memory will play. by the time it ends, harrow has put down her coffee, running her hands down her painted face, smearing the paint.]
[Honestly she's valid. Even Rin, ever the curious one who always asks questions about what he sees, knows that this isn't the time to start asking about any of that. Harrow is such a calm person normally, even an action as mild as dragging her hands down her face speaks volumes.
He looks to one side, then to the other. Good, nobody else was around to see that. It seemed kind of private. So then he looks back to her and starts to talk, speaking with a quieter and more cautious voice than he normally has.]
[Hey Harrow! When Rin sees her out in the void, he's going to step over to her for a moment. He looks exhausted and red in the face, but he's keeping it together for now.]
[Rin can't train like he normally does when he's upset so he's going to spend most of the day keeping himself scarce. But they can come across each other in the void because Rin does eventually have to go get food like a normal person even if he looks like a mess. He's not crying right now, but his eyes are red and he's in a noticeably bad mood.
Still, he'll nod to Harrow when he sees her. He likes Harrow so he'll try to talk to her.]
['Sorry doesn't fix anything' he thinks immediately, but he pushes that thought away. That's not going to help anything, and he really needs to keep control of his impulsiveness right now. Times where he's emotional are the times when his demon side tries to sneakily take control. Just breathe, he reminds himself. Slow, steady breaths.]
Thanks. But it's not your fault, y'know? It's...not really anybody's fault.
[That's why it hurts so much. Kaeya is so important to Rin, and he can't even be mad at whoever killed him because they probably had no control over it.]
[This text comes a couple hours after the trial. It is also typed extremely slowly and actually grammatically correct, like Rin is taking his time to do it right.]
I'm sorry.
I didn't tell the truth yesterday and people got hurt because of it.
If you don't answer or don't forgive me, that's okay. I understand. I know it doesn't fix anything.
But I still wanted to say sorry.
[An apology from someone who has had to apologize countless times before and has plenty of practice at it.]
[Rin, on Saturday: I said my apologies I'll give her space now.
Rin, on Monday: time to go bother her again!
Which is to say, Harrow has a shadow following her Monday evening. Rin isn't being too sneaky about it but he's not approaching her directly at first. Instead, when she stops somewhere for a bit, he's going to toss a paper airplane in her direction.]

Is this where you usually hang out?

[she leans back slightly.]
But sometimes. I do like the water, even if I don't care for swimming.

[He looks out over the pool like it will help him understand something. But he sees nothing, so.]
Just...because the water is calm, or something?

Are you prepared for curfew tonight?

[He's smiling.]
Sure, I guess. I mean, Thursdays always kinda suck, but you do what you can do, yeah?
